As the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change takes place in Poland, AGSIW will host a discussion examining efforts by the Gulf Arab countries to tackle climate change, both in terms of mitigation and adaptation. The discussion follows a prolonged period of lower global oil prices, which, for the Gulf Arab countries, has increased momentum toward economic reforms and diversification away from hydrocarbons. These economic reforms also create opportunities for addressing climate change with promising co-benefits.
