Blockchain is one of the largest technological disruptors of our lifetime, changing the way that we do finance, accounting, and record keeping.
You may be intimately familiar with what blockchain is, or the name might just be a buzzword you hear on the news. Regardless of your familiarity with blockchain, this technology has incredible implications for social and environmental impact. Join us, as we hear from DC professionals that are using this technology to make an impact.
We will hear from the leadership team of The Giving Block, a company using cryptocurrency to effectively finance nonprofit ventures. Read more about them in their recent Nonprofit Tech for Good article 5 Reasons Why Nonprofits Love Cryptocurrency.
Chief Research Officer Michael Earley will set the stage by giving an overview of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology. Next, we will hear from Co-Founder Alex Wilson on how cryptocurrency fundraising rose to prominence and how nonprofits are winning in this arena. Finally, Co-Founder Pat Duffy will illustrate the broader implications for how blockchain and cryptocurrency will transform how nonprofits approach fundraising, transparency and impact.
