Korea’s Current Long-Term Natural Gas Plan

Dr. Ho-Mu Lee is a Research Fellow at the Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI), a government-affiliated energy policy think tank. Dr. Lee has been worked at KEEI since 2008 and is currently a visiting scholar at George Washington University (2017-2018). Dr. Lee was head of KEEI’s Gas Policy Research Division from 2014 to 2017. He has led several research projects on Korea’s natural gas policies and infrastructure planning, which were commissioned by the Korean government, Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), Korea Gas Union, etc. He also advised the Korean government on various gas market policies and issues, including Korea’s biennial long-term natural gas supply plans.

Dr. Lee has frequently been involved in regional and international fora related to natural gas as either a speaker or discussant. He was a full-time member of the Korean delegation to the negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) from 2010 to 2014. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Management Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
