How to Conduct Assessments and Build a Financial Case for Greening Existing Buildings

To most people, “green building” connotes sustainable construction practices, but we can have a much greater impact on the environment if we focus on the 98 percent of buildings that are already up and running. Created for property owners, manager, engineers and others at the front lines of improving building operations, USGBC National Capital Region’s 3-part Existing Buildings Education Series will go deep into the methods and benefits of implementing sustainable management practices for your property and bottom line.

Scheduled for April 25 from 8:30-11:00am at USGBC’s DC headquarters, Session #1 will address an issue that stymies many – the scope of greening an existing building is so vast and daunting, where do I start? USGBC-NCR’s expert panel will present various strategies for planning and executing assessments, prioritizing action items, and building a case for implementation.
