Join the Urban Sustainability Directors Network (USDN), the American Society of Adaptation Professionals (ASAP), and the Georgetown Climate Center to play the Game of Extremes (from 1:30 to 5pm). Faced with climate impacts in a fictional community, like increasing heat and flooding, participants will decide how to make community assets most resilient. This training will be a fun way to learn about climate change, its impacts, and how communities can adapt.
The Game of Extremes will be hosted by Kristin Baja, USDN’s Climate Resilience Officer. In her work for USDN, Kristin helps cities identify strategic ways to advance climate resilience planning and implementation, and build their capacity to take action. She helps to accelerate the implementation of on-the-ground action in cities, while advancing learning, collaboration, and momentum around climate resilience in alignment with GHG reduction, equity, and other goals.
The training event may be filmed.
You will need identification to get through security.
After the training, we will head to the Billy Goat Tavern (at 500 New Jersey Avenue NW) for a post-event happy hour from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
