An American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) roundtable will examine “Energy Markets and Security in Germany and Wider Europe: Is a Stronger EU the Answer?” The aim of this event is to explore from a transatlantic perspective the evolution of EU energy policies and what impacts deeper European integration and a stronger EU foreign policy voice would have on European energy transition, security of supply, and trade with Russia.
We will have four expert panelists join us on this occasion:
**Thane Gustafson, Georgetown University (author of the new book The Bridge: Natural Gas in a Redivided Europe)
**Doug Hengel, German Marshal Fund of the United States
**Emily Holland, U.S. Naval Academy
**Nikos Tsafos, Center for Strategic and International Studies
The roundtable will be convened by the AICGS Geoeconomics Program, which provides new ideas for the United States, Germany, and the EU to advance their common economic interests in the transatlantic and broader global contexts.
We hope you will be able to join us for this timely debate and look forward to welcoming you to AICGS.
