The CSIS Energy and National Security Program is pleased to welcome The Honorable Steve Daines, United States Senator from Montana, as the next speaker in the Energy in America series.
Montana plays an important role in the national energy debate, reflecting the need for balancing economic growth and natural resource management. Sen. Daines will discuss how energy is woven into the economic and social fabric of the state, outlining the policy, economic, commercial, and societal issues most important to Montana vis-à-vis energy.
As a member of both the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resouces and the Senate Western Caucus, Senator Daines will provide a unique perspective on the role that energy plays in Montana, its neighboring states, and the United States.
Energy in America is an ongoing project by CSIS Energy and National Security Program highlighting the social and economic impacts of energy and the challenges facing policymakers as they attempt to harness U.S. energy resources to create and foster economic opportunities. Through a public speaker series, podcasts, reports, and in-state private workshops, the project features congressional and state-level perspectives on the energy issues that matter most in various regions across the United States.
