Over half of humanity now lives in cities, accounting for a vast majority of energy consumption. In order to achieve a more sustainable future, we must tackle these issues at the city-level. Cities represent both a challenge and a solution.

In partnership with the DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU), the Johns Hopkins SAIS practicum team has analyzed the application of an energy efficiency model in Medellin, Colombia. Based on the successes of the DCSEU model, the practicum team has identified the potential impacts an SEU model will have in energy and cost savings and reduction in energy burden on residents and public serving institutions.
