January 9 Green Business Roundtable: The Imperative of Sustainability in Health Care

Speaker:  Chip Goyette, Director of Sustainability, Inova Health System 

Chip Goyette is the Director of Sustainability at Inova Health System, managing the system-wide implementation of a comprehensive set of sustainable practices at hospitals and facilities across Northern Virginia.

His expertise includes energy, buildings, finance, solid waste and more. Prior to joining Inova Health in 2016, Chip served as Branch Chief to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Environmental Management Branch.

At the Department of Energy, he created and managed a small-building Energy Savings Performance Contract program. He also provided support and leadership on a number of waste diversion programs at Arlington County Virginia.

Chip believes that sustainability is a strategic imperative for businesses large and small.

Mr. Goyette will discuss why Sustainable Healthcare is so important for hospitals and other providers to embrace.  Using Inova as an example, we’ll discuss the business opportunities and challenges within the health care industry and what the future may hold.
