About our speakers
Pamela King, E&E News
Pamela covers the Interior Department’s oil and gas policies for Energywire, a publication of E&E News. In her seven years at E&E News, she has reported on the U.S. shale boom and bust and its impacts on the economy, communities and the environment. She has traveled across the country to document the ripple effects of fossil fuel extraction and has recently turned her attention to the Trump administration’s efforts to revive the shale revolution. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University and a master’s degree in environmental resource policy from George Washington University.
Jasmin Melvin, S&P Global Platts
As a member of S&P Global Platts’ DC regulatory team, Jasmin Melvin writes for the Inside FERC and Megawatt Daily publications. She provides in-depth coverage and analysis of regulatory, legislative and judicial actions impacting the power and natural gas sectors. Her focus has been on federal energy policy, particularly concerning the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and market and regulatory actions impacting electric utilities, such as the grid resilience review and PURPA enforcement. In her 10 years as a reporter in Washington, she has also covered the nuclear power beat at Platts, as well as technology, telecom and media policy for Reuters. In her spare time, she runs a small book publishing company.
Maya Weber, S&P Global Platts
Maya Weber is a reporter and editor with Inside FERC and Gas Daily, published by S&P Global Platts. She follows regulatory and judicial issues affecting natural gas pipelines, and has recently kept watch on steel tariffs as well as CFTC regulation of energy derivatives. She has over a decade of experience covering Washington, including stints reporting on environmental policy for Inside Washington Publishers and on environment and energy for National Journal’s Congress Daily. She began at Platts as a stringer based in Southeast Asia and has worked there as a managing editor of electric power publications and as a real-time news desk editor.
