The US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will host members from its committee on Assessing Approaches to Updating the Social Cost of Carbon as well as experts from federal and state governments and academia to discuss approaches to valuing climate damages.
The symposium will be open to the public and held at the historic National Academy of Sciences building in Washington, DC. The symposium is organized into three panels: the first to review the committee’s recommendations, the second to hear from academics who are developing estimates of the social cost of carbon, and the third to discuss federal and state approaches to valuing climate damages.
