The Global America Business Institute (GABI) is pleased to invite you to a workshop on “Prospects for Advanced Nuclear – Analyses on Cost and Risk Factors for Commercial Deployment.”
Advanced nuclear technologies have the potential for significant improvements in flexibility, safety, security, non-proliferation, and waste management over conventional light water reactors. Nevertheless, concerns remain regarding the ultimate commercial viability and competitiveness of these next-generation reactor technologies. Therefore, careful and comprehensive investigations into the estimated costs and probable risks of these technologies are necessary, not only to inform investment and technical development decisions, but also equip policymakers with a better understanding of the relevant issues so that the proper policies and incentives can be implemented to more effectively manage probable challenges and encourage innovation in this critical area.
**”Findings of a Standardized Cost Analysis of Advanced Nuclear Technologies in Commercial Development” by Irfan Ali (Managing Director, Energy Innovation Reform Project)
**”Challenges and Risk Factors for the Early Deployment of Commercial-scale Non-LWR Advanced Nuclear Projects: Results of Study Conducted by Environmental Business International and Verdigris Capital” by Walter Howes (Managing Partner, Verdigris Capital) and Andrew Paterson (Principal, Environmental Business International)
The discussion is off-the-record.
