Free public tour and lecture. Join the American Society of Landscape Architects on May 17 as it officially opens the new ASLA Center for Landscape Architecture in D.C.’s Chinatown. The Center is a showcase for sustainable design excellence and also serves as ASLA’s headquarters. The built and natural environment of the office have been designed to be healthy for occupants and environmentally sustainable.
The public may tour the Center–including its award-winning green roof–from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on May 17. A lecture on the building will take place from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The presenters will include staff from ASLA, architecture firm Gensler, and landscape architecture firm Oehme van Sweden. Reservations are required for the lecture. For more information or to reserve a seat for the lecture, call (202) 216-2371.
