Join your neighbors to learn about "Hot Enough For You?! How to Prepare Our City for Climate Change" and discuss:
• What risk climate change poses to Washington, DC and nearby cities
• How cities are preparing for these risks
• What individuals can do to protect our community
There are literally hundreds of practical ways that your city—and you yourself—can prepare for warmer temperatures and more weather extremes. And forward-thinking U.S. cities are already implementing them: they are beating the heat with more green roofs and trees, installing larger culverts so heavy rains don’t flood streets, and enhancing water conservation initiatives to make sure every drop counts during prolonged droughts. Our city needs to prepare for climate change. We need your help with identifying how our community is at risk and how best to get ready. All of our ideas will then be compiled and shared with local city leaders.
